Abstract: This is a data-set paper, listing a total of 2838 electron microprobe ThO_2,UO_2 and PbO analyses of monazites and zircons from the Hida gneiss on Oki-Dogo Island (7 samples) and in the central Hida terrane (4 samples), western Japan, and from the Yulri gneiss (2 samples) in the Samcheog area of the Ryongnam massif, South Korea (Table 1). From these data we have determined CHIME (Chemical Th-U-total Pb Isochron Method) ages for monazites and zircons (Suzuki and Adachi, 1994). The age data have provided evidence on (1) the presence of recycled Precambrian materials in the protolith of paragneisses, (2) the late Paleozoic-early Mesozoic metamorphism of the Hida gneiss, (3) the significant differences of the Hida gneisses between Oki-Dogo Island and central Hida terrane, and (4) the correlation of basement gneisses in the Japanese Islands and the Korean Peninsula. For details of the dating results and discussion, the readers are requested to refer to the paper of Suzuki and Adachi (1994).
